I had such a great birthday cebration the other night at Lure Night Club in Hollywood! This year I was debating on whether to do something quiet or big on my birthday, and decided to do both! I had a nice dinner with my family and I took my girlfriends out for the big bash. Seeing from all my comments on my IG and Twitter, the mirror dress was a hit! It was a hand made design with each crystal, mirror, beading and sequence hand woven to make the perfect mirror sparkle dress! There’s only two occasions you can wear that type of dress and it’s NYE and your Birthday! I loved it and it fit like a glove. My shoes were a metallic silver peep toe pump by  Prada. One of the highlights of the night was definitely my party bus! It was a club on wheels…7 plasma tvs, 2 dance poles, 2 bars, light show, the works! It was able to fit 30 or more but I only had a few girlfriends in there lol! Everyone at Lure and on the Supreme Team was very accommodating and a special about out to Jimmy Maggette who made sure everything was just right for my birthday !

What matters most is that I spent this day with great friends who were fun, happy, and kept me laughing and smiling all night…that’s what life is all about!

This was my 1st time shooting with Hasaan from Facet Studios ( @FacetStudios ) and he was in charge of my makeup and photography. Style credits to Ducky the Stylist and Hair by Christina Olsen ( @HairbyXtina ) . Also a big THANK YOU to Blackmens Mag editor, Marcus Blassingame and his entire team who made the decision to make my spread the cover shot

This is my 2nd cover with Blackmens magazine, my previous was a couple years ago for their first issue using a male celebrity with T.I. And even in that magazine, those photos were some of my favorite to date.

I’m so happy with these photos because we put in alot of work to get the shots! We shot in the middle of January in 30 degree weather at the beach, in pitch black darkness. We couldnt use too many lights because it would take away from the style of the photos, so it was dark, windy, and freezing and all the while I had to look sultry, calm, and warm! Not to mention I jumped into the water to get the final shots! But these types of photoshoots always result in a great outcome.

The issue is already out on stands now but is scheduled to debut everywhere March 1st!

I brought along my friend Donna because I thought it’d be fun to bring someone who hadn’t visited the city yet. As soon as Jeremy picked me up we were going over the details of the night and what I’d expect from the venue etc, and right before we were going into the club, Jaleysa and Jeremy told me they had a surprise for me. Now mind you, I’m probably one of the hardest people to surprise because I have a nitch for figuring things out all the time, even when I don’t mean to!

But as soon as I walk in the club I see a banner and a poster of me that read “Happy Birthday Daphne Joy!” and my table was surrounded by all these pretty balloons! And Jeremy and Jaleysa gave me a hug, and said “Surpise!” It was honestly, the sweetest thing and I was so touched that they put the time and effort to do something like this for me. They had the cake, the sparklers, bottles, great music all night long! I really just kept thanking them the whole night I was SO surprised and I just still couldn’t believe it!!

Jeremy, Jaleysa, and everyone from Axcess Entertainment definitely showed me love and I will always remember it. Here are some fun photos from the event!

Well, this year I just decided I wanted to be really low key for my birthday celebrations. Last year, I had one of the biggest and best birthdays with all my girlfriends and friends. Last year I had a stretch Escalade limo that seated 40 girls, and I had exactly 42 girls in my limo. We first hit Mr. Chows for a wonderful dinner, and took the limo to Club Eden, which was the new hot spot in Hollywood. Lots of people I didnt know that were coming surprised me and joined in on the celebrations, and it was definitely a party people were talking about afterwards. All I know is everyone kept saying I had the most gorgeous group of girlfriends, and yes this is quiet true! LOL.

But with all of that glitz and glam, people dont realize how stressful it was to coordinate the cars, hotels, restaurants and club. I started feeling bad leading up to my birthday this year because I can tell they wanted to party it up just like last year, LOL. But I just couldnt do it! I told myself that my next birthday was just going to be super quiet and that’s exactly what I got this year.

Anytime my girlfriends and I have some down-town we love going to this place in Hollywood called Katana. It’s a great sushi and Japanese restaurant and the reason why we love it so much is for the ambiance, and plus the food is actually really good. My friend Melissa set it all up really last minute, and unfortunately not everyone could make it but we just had a nice intimate group of girls there. Alysha, Melissa, her friend Jamie, Arianna and myself. I had celebrated with my family earlier too for brunch and that was just great.

But what I found most thoughtful was everyone started naming the things they loved about me and things they cherish within our friendship, and I literally was holding back tears. I feel good knowing I have people who appreciate and really care about me and know I will just be as good as a friend in return.

Also, I want to give a HUGE shout-out to Twitter on the day of my birthday I think it was a record breaking day with how many Happy Birthday tweets I got! I know it was definitely a couple hundred! I had to turn my phone on silent! LOL
